I Had to Make a Change to Get My Life in Order Again

I had no idea that I would one day be so depressed that I would often not show up to work and soon be fired. As a young person, I was happy-go-lucky and did not have a care in the world. But the older I got, the more life became so much more confusing to me. Someone I know recommended that I see a life coach in San Francisco that he had been seeing. He told me that it would change my life. I had no idea that such a person out there existed, but I was ready to try anything.

I had a pretty good job. A job that paid me well, and I really enjoyed it. I had worked hard to move up in the company. I wanted to be an executive, and that is what I aimed for. After working with the company for 7 years, I was promoted to district manager. I can’t say that I remember any boring days at work in the years after I became the manager. I loved visiting our different locations in my portion of our state. I loved getting to know all of the employees. I loved doing a good job for my boss, who happened to be the CEO.

When my wife passed, my world fell apart. We had no children. Some people might wonder why that was important to me, and it was because I had always wanted to have them with her. When she died, I felt like I was treading water with the depression that came. So many nights I could not sleep. During the day, I felt like a zombie. I sometimes did not show up for work. I lost my job. My money was soon running out. I called the life coach, and after many sessions, he taught me how I could get back on track again.

Professional Tech Recruiters Got Us out of a Personnel Bind

I needed an innovative and very savvy highly trained electronics expert to work in our development lab. I had a guy just up and leave for a startup who gave him a pair of rose-colored glasses. Well, they did not really do that, but it sure seems like they did due to how he viewed their offer. We are in the middle of developing a new product for our company, and we had a key person quit. I took a chance on him even though he did that to someone else. This time I hired tech recruiters to not only find me great talent, but to find someone who was stable and had the temperament we were looking for in an expert.

You could have a genius working for your company. It could be someone that has innovative ideas that are absolutely brilliant. However, if the ideas do not turn into something you can sell, the brilliance is just a waste of company resources. We needed someone who could develop a viable product and who had the focus to see it through from idea to prototype to finished product in a timely manner. Temperament on the job is also a big part of doing the job. It takes more than just creativity or abilities. The tech recruiters we contracted with to find us suitable talent to interview did an excellent job. We got people that felt to us like they were made to work for our company.

We only had one position open, but we actually made a new position to hire a second candidate. We found two people we just could not let go. When our engineer left in a hurry, he left us scrambling. Now we have one person who exceeds his performance by leaps and bounds, and we have another who is equally inventive and business minded. We will be using tech recruiters in the future when it comes time to expand.
